Here's something: I have been searching for the mechanical pencil I bought in Korea. Great instrument, some kind of lightweight, robust metal with a precise tip. Japanese, of course. I haven't been able to find it. After statistics, I haven't had much need for it, but recently I started doing things with paper again and now I need something erasable. I need a pencil. Mine, nowhere to be found for weeks. This morning I almost went to buy a new one, finally giving up. Tonight at work I was in a rush to do something when I needed a writing utensil immediately. I reached over the nearby receptionist's desk to borrow one and there it was. Amazing. Was just thinking about it. I figure I probably left it there one night long, long ago. Surprised no one took it home.
