There is a new page up.

You have NO IDEA how long I’ve been working on this thing. I’m so happy to wash my hands of it that I’ll eat a couple extra HEADS just to celebrate. Whew. The head attached to me hurts.

I guess it was Friday or so when I decided to just work straight on the page until I finished. I’ve been working on it every spare moment since and finally finished just now at 8:30pm. There are still problems, some of which I know about and others I’m sure I don’t even have a clue exist. If you see anything major, let me know - especially if you have an easy idea how to fix it. You should see a bunch of colored squares that are pretty similar in size. They’re all supposed to be the same size, but somehow it doesn’t quite work out that way. Oh well. Close enough. Oh, and last time I checked, the animated gif was working perfectly in both IE and Netscrape (even though the page itself looks quite different in each browser - *grumble*).

So Friday night Dave and I went out to eat at VegeWorld. It was pretty good I guess. There was a lot of food and it was really expensive so I’m not as pleased as I could’ve been. All the food is vegetarian, which is awesome, but they try to mimic meat a lot. Yuck. One of the things about being vegetarian is that even if the sight of meat didn’t bug you before, the sight of it becomes nauseating once you’re entrenched in your veggie habits. I really don’t know what the appeal is of imitating meat. Most of the dishes were not "fake meat" but there were a few and they were not so good. Oh, it’s all Chinese food. (Forgot to mention that.) So, the fact that it was vegetarian was great because usually the Chinese food I eat is packed with meat and tons of oil. This time, we just had to deal with the oil. Like I said: It was pretty good.

The restaurant is located in one of the richest areas of town. After the cab dropped us off we walked by a Porsche dealership, the big Chrysler building (imports in Korea), and a store selling hot tubs. Dave, when he saw the hot tub, exclaimed and pointed. Yeah, I know what he means. When you think of Seoul you think of cramped apartment living. It’s hard to imagine anyone having space for a hot tub. But there are rich people who do have space and I guess they would be shopping there, so….

Saturday we got out early and went to Yongsan Electronics market to pick up some light bulbs and to look for a humidifier and maybe a thermos. We got the bulbs and the humidifier. We were home by 1pm, which was awesome. I hate being out on Saturday afternoons as those hours are the among the busiest of the whole week, crowd-wise.

Today we stayed in mostly, but we did wander out to the Seoul Arts Center to look around a bit. It’s a huge complex just a mile or two from us but it’s difficult to walk there because of a big freeway between it and our place, it’s a little short for a cab ride, there isn’t a direct bus, and the subway seems like a hassle. So, see, we never go. But the weather was awesome - really warm and sunny for November - and we wanted to go outside but not too far from home. We bought more Korean traditional music at the center and Dave listened to it this evening while I was working on that blasted page.

Actually, I’m lamenting the end of the weekend because I haven’t spent as much time with Dave as I would’ve liked. Most of the time I’ve been in here with my face glued to the screen and he’s been quietly working on his projects in another room. I hate that.

Well, this entry doesn’t feel as fluid as I’d like it to be. The thoughts feel jumbled and my fingers just can’t type because I’ve been sitting at this computer too long.

Good night.
