... says my friend, describing a bizarre meeting he attended. Meeting topic: a social network inside a social network. ... Is that networking to infinity? The image above is a picture I took of the mud flats in Anchorage Bay several years ago. I thought I'd try the method for creating the tilt-shift effect in PhotoShop. I see the effect everywhere these days. Do you? It's all the rage. The effect works best with city views, or views that remind you of miniatures in film or in your toy box. I probably have pictures that are better candidates for tilt-shifting, but this image stood out today for some reason. I think it reminded me of someplace you might see godzilla. If I had more time, I'd find a godzilla and stick him in there, just to see. Also, these rivulets were actually quite large, which is why I snapped the picture in the first place. You need a version of PhotosShop that has the Lens Blur filter to really make this work. The version I have is too old. Instead, I used Gaussian Blur, which doesn't look like the depth of field a camera produces. With the filter applied, it looks more like a painting than a photograph. I probably could improve the way it looked if I fiddled with it longer. But you know the drill: everyday, nighttime is short, and the meetings start early in the morning. See you tomorrow.
