What is it with people wanting to be alive when armageddon comes? Every minute has one. It doesn't seem enough to simply see the signs and fear or will its coming. One must impel it. What hopes fan their incendiary words and actions? Could it be as simple as wanting to live in important times? Or, something more sinister, such as the delusion that one could prevail and proliferate in human destruction? What if it is emotional, such as an oblique wish that only the apocalypse can bring a life without suffering? I am intrigued and sickened by these people who have crowded the sidelines of bloody conflict to cheer it on, to lavish martyrdom on baseness and demand, Now! Now! I guess if you don't believe in evolution and you've put all your cards on supernatural rescue, then you can't accept the finiteness of natural resources or why such a concept would matter if it did exist. Then there is the kindred belief that murder and suicide is the path to eternal paradise. I guess, if you possess something from this family of beliefs and you happen to sit in any seat of power, it must seem like everyone else wastes a lot of time talking about things that don't matter.
