7.3.2005 | It's been a hellish couple of months, let me (not) tell you

This is the first doc with the tablet. This is the bounty from a month and half of fly-by-night negotiation for continued work. Looks like things turned out OK, huh?

The tablet is still learning how to read my handwriting, and I’m still learning the laptop’s quirks—where they’ve squished in the keys and such. My handwriting doesn’t look like my handwriting because I’m writing delicately, and a little slowly—scratching and leaning all over this expensive screen goes against my nature! Also, there is this problem of guiding the cognitive flow to some middle ground between typing and handwriting. The mind gives different content for different mediums.

The day is Alki—sunny and waterful. People are wearing white and tennyrunners and less than that. My view is toward memory and childhood, and even recency, but that less so.

This is Independence weekend—all weekend. Yesterday I freed the corner of my house where the productivity’s done, where the money’s made. Lots of paper! Apparently the last time I did this was in 2003, judging by the dates on everything. It took all day. Ecosystems were destroyed for a new era of productivity and financial gain.

Hereafter let the piles begin anew.
