What's there to do with time but organize? Move files around and create neat little folders. Delete. Find the desk's surface again and stow papers vertically. Make lists. Count money. Wash dishes.

The phone rings in the middle of it all and it's the unexpected. Don't worry. It was good news: A job maybe.

The radio station cycles through hourly shows and for most of the night it's likeable music. Around midnight it starts to sound better turned off.

Time is good for a movie too. Tom sent Raising Arizona and watching it is enjoyable like new.

And maybe a little—what is it?—Extreme G Racing on the GameCube. Play until just a little queasy.

Then hungry maybe. A little sleepy too. A struggle between them postpones going to bed, which stretches time into this.
