Sunlight finally. I don't know what to do with it but I can't help noticing the lightness, the weight being lifted I mean. Driving is back, easier without the burden of wind, rain and the hazards they make. It's noon and daylight is the color of early morning in Wyoming or Montana in early June. I miss my trip. It's already one of my favorite things I've ever done. Fortunately, I'm traveling again Saturday for a week. Andrew and I are driving to San Francisco to see his sister and my friend Yvonne. It'll be a different kind of road trip, with a destination and a travel companion, but that's fine. I just want to be on the road. I know we'll have the car, the bikes, and at least one computer with us. I know this trip will kick ass in its own way. Kate came over tonight to play Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 on Andrew's Gamecube. This is the second Monday in a row Kate and I have gone head-to-head. Without question this is the most fun I've had playing a video game, for as far back into kidhood as I can remember. Our skill levels are comparable and we both dig skateboarding and video games. What's best is our senses of humor are compatible. Mostly she pulls hilarious joke combos while I just laugh. Laugh and laugh. We're better skateboarders in video game land. She's got more talent than I do on the street for sure. I'm like a six-year-old out there. But I'm currently a little more skilled on the screen. Tonight as she left and we were plotting the next matchbecause it's too fun not to beat into the groundshe said, "Remember, we used to do this outdoors!" |
