If you're in these parts you know that the weather is nearly summer-like and it has been weekend so we've all been outside, if we're not fools. I have not been foolish in that regard, at least not on Saturday. I went for a walk around Greenlake, which Jason said reminded him of Minnesota, which is probably why I don't really like Greenlake even though everyone else does. (I only like that the direction is round and I can stop where I started.) Then a change in gear for a long flat bike ride along the water with Pam, which was particularly fun. The sun on my face and knees is where I like it warm and the pedaling became easier with each mile passed. Even when I was nearly home I felt energy reserved in my legs and lungs. We stopped at the Alki Bakery, a place I have passed many times but never stopped in to eat. I think I'm usually in Alki in the late evenings when it's closed. But not so then; we ate sweet things in our road-grimy skins and let our bodies get cold so that it was a little hard to start up again. |
